Evergreen, the nature Lovers Paradise

Evergreen Coloado is located about 15 miles West of Denver. Evergreen is a mountain community and Evergreen Lake is situated in the middle. It has a residential population of approximately 40,000 people. Evergreen is centered around the mountain lifestlye. Homes are scattered amonst the dense conifer forest and often located on large lots or acreage. The town has some of the big box store conveniences like Wal Mart and Home Depot but mostly consists of smaller business to maintain the mountain small town charm.

Wildlife is abundant in Evergreen. Deer and herds of elk are common sitings in Evergren. In late Spring and Summer the elk cows give birth to the baby elk and you can often see the babies on the island at Evergreen Lake. Fall is rutting season and the bull Elk compete for their female mates so you will see the males aparing in the meadows. Other wildlife you will see in Evergreen are fox, bears, mountain lions, bald eagles, trout in the rivers and lake, bobcats, lynx, wild turkeys, and chipmunks. Wildlife is a major benefit of living in Evergreen and certainly add to the excitement.

Living in the rocky you get access to all four seasons. The Spring and Summer weather is absolutly amazing. You can open your windows and doors and let the beatuful weather in the house. Temperatures range from 60's to mid 80's. In the Winter we do get snow but not as much as many might think. I think the snow is beautiful and it completely changes the beautiful landscape. It is very sunny in Evergreen so the snow melts quickly and does not hang around long. In the Fall the Aspen trees turn gold and it makes for a spactacular change of scenery. It's fun to drive through the mountains and see all the scenery changes taking place.

Evergreen Colorado is a great place for people to retire or move their families here. We have good medical resources in Evergreen as well as major medical resources just a short drive to Denver. There is a variety of Evergreen public schools, Evergreen private schools and Evergreen home schools available in Evergreen to choose from. Evergreen is an active community. We have several open space parks dispersed throughout Evergreen for you to enjoy. You can go hiking, mountain biking, fishing, fly fishing, horse back riding, road biking, camping and golfing all without leaving Evergreen. You have close access to world class skiing just 45 minutes from Evergreen. Breckenridge, Winter Park, Copper, Keystone, Vail are just a few of the nearby ski resorts. If you like zip lining or white water rafting just head West 10 miles to Idaho Springs where there are guided tours. There are many 14'ers for your climb that are within a mile away. Mt. Evans, North Americas highest paved road is located between Evergreen and Idaho Springs and is an amazing experience. It's like being on top of the world.

The average home price of Evergreen Real Estate is in the mid 400's. You can find homes for less but not easily. Evergreen's mountain lifestyle is in demand and I highly recommend you check it out. Some less expensive areas near Evergreen are Conifer, Bailey and Pine which are also mountain communities.
